Tomcat Cloud Hosting
Quick, Simple, and Scalable Tomcat Cloud Hosting
What is Tomcat Cloud Hosting?
Tomcat cloud hosting from Steadfast Networks gives our Cloud Platform customers the ability to use Apache's amazing open-source, Java-based web server. Tomcat's architecture implements the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies. It also acts as a servlet container by managing these Java servlets (server-side applets), creating a runtime environment for these web components, and distributing incoming URL requesters to the appropriate servlets.
Want to use your single computer as a server for use in programming and software testing? Tomcat makes this possible, and it provides a Java-based HTTP web server as an alternative to the C-based Apache web server.
The Tomcat JumpBox also acts as a deployment method for your Tomcat-built applications. Suitable for both testing and production purposes, the JumpBox for Tomcat is powerful enough to support a daily production load. You've also got flexibility in your deployments – you can deploy as a .war file or as a directory using the Tomcat manager.
Tomcat is a powerful web server and development tool that has been downloaded more than 10 million times since its creation. Many well-known companies report using Tomcat on their sites, for their applications, and in their systems, including E*Trade, Wal-Mart, and The Weather Channel, just to name a few.
And because Tomcat is an open-source project backed by the power of Apache, you know you'll be getting the most updated software available. A long list of third-party plugins is also available for further customization options – see Apache.org/tomcat/AddOns">this page for a complete list. Tomcat is a great choice for anyone interested in building and deploying Java-based servlet applications.
