SAN: Storage Area Network
A Storage Area Network (SAN) provides block level access to data, leaving your servers to manage file systems. As a result, you get fast, dependable, platform-neutral storage.
A SAN allows data sharing across multiple devices and file systems, and high compatibility with virtualization and cloud platforms including OnApp, Citrix/XEN, and VMWare.
You can choose from SANs using SAS drives or SATA drives, each with their own benefits.

Unlike a SAN, a NAS solution takes care of file system concerns, eliminating potential compatibility issues. If you are building your own server cluster or using our High Availability Cluster solution, network attached storage is an excellent choice.
When you order a NAS solution from Steadfast, you can choose SAS or SATA drives, each with their own advantages.
