Apache Web Server Cloud Hosting

Quick, Simple, and Scalable Apache Web Server Cloud Hosting

Why Should I Choose Apache Web Server Cloud Hosting or a Apache Web Server Dedicated Server?

Steadfast Networks offers Apache Web Server cloud hosting and an Apache Web Server dedicated server for one simple reason: it’s the single most popular HTTP server software in existence, and has been for over 15 years. In fact, reports from March of 2012 say that over 57 percent of all active websites and more than 65 percent of servers across every domain are served by Apache.

Why is Apache so popular? Its open-source nature makes Apache home to a huge number of features that have been created as compiled modules that extend the original functions of the server. These can be anything from a URL rewriter to authentication schemes, and users are always adding to what can be done using Apache Web Server. Just a few modules available include:

With Apache, you can also configure your own error messages and analyze logs through your web browser by using free scripts like AWStats/W3Perl or Visitors. You also get a built-in search engine, FTP support, and an HTML authorizing tool. And if you need another reason to try Apache, think virtual hosting. It lets you use one Apache installation to serve multiple websites at once!

How Can I Add Apache Web Server Cloud Hosting or Get an Apache Web Server Dedicated Server?

Steadfast Networks offers Apache Web Server completely free of charge, whether you are looking for a dedicated server with Apache or just want to utilize it through our Cloud Platform.

Customers leasing a dedicated server just need to let the representative know they want Apache when they call in – it’s that easy! And Cloud Platform clients can utilize Apache with any compatible OSes and applications that we offer. Many of our JumpBox applications that run with Apache even come with it preinstalled to make your job as easy as possible.

System Requirements for Apache Web Server

Depending upon whether you are installing Apache for Windows or a UNIX or UNIX-like system, the requirements vary. Apache for Windows is fairly straightforward:

UNIX requirements are a bit more thorough. For starters, 50 MB of temporary disk space should be free. Apache only takes up 10 MB after the install, but you might want the extra space depending on the configuration and any third-party modules you choose. You will also need to install an ANSI-C compiler such as GNU C compiler, and your PATH will need to have “make” and other basic build tools. A time synchronization facility like ntpdate or xntpd is also useful because some elements of Apache’s HTTP protocol use the time of day. And you may wish to have Perl 5 depending on the way you intend to use Apache.
