Our site, like many others requires JavaScript for everything to work.

Unfortunately some people for various reasons have JavaScript turned off.

If a user doesn't have JavaScript on, and the web site requires it, most programmers insert some text that tells the user that he or she needs to enable JavaScript.

We did the same thing, but we also inserted a link that to a page that explains how to Enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. The result is lower stress for the user, and more likelihood that they will stay and buy.
