Default A few questions before coming over

Well, after a few days of shopping for a new host, I've narrowed my search down to 2 and steadfast is one of my viable options. I only have a few questions that need some answers though...

My website is a PHPBB-powered 'online game', it currently has about 50 active members, but we're planning on having hundreds of new users flocking in soon as we are going to be getting out of our beta phase soon. We've had a few spikes of players (our highest being 5000 players joining within a 2 week span) that didn't really seem to affect our (very cheap and unreliable) current host. I'm anticipating about 200 to upwards 400 visitors visiting my website simultaneously when everything is fully deployed. The website and programming isn't heavy, but it's only the amount of visits and _especially_ the amount of SQL Queries that worry me, as everything is server-sided (php).

The only issue right now (hopefully not in the future) is obviously money, and considering that steadfast has an array of shared, vps and dedicated solutions, I thought that for a long-term host, it would be perfect as our site grows and becomes bigger and bigger.

    Now, I was wondering:

    1. I'm planning on starting off with the Silver shared hosting plan. Will a load of 100-200 simultaneous users be too high? Are there any limits as to how many SQL queries can be sent to the server by shared hosting websites?

    2. Is the transition from Shared -> VPS easy, and is there any option to make it practically seemless? I've seen this with other hosts, so I'd like to know is steadfast does such transfers.

    3. If such transfer is possible, how would one with a yearly-paid account go along paying new fees? Will they be added on top of already-paid fees, or will only the difference need to be paid?

That's all for now. Again, considering my (cheap) host didn't send me any warnings or suspended my account when we had that 5000 player influx (over 2 weeks, meaning that in average there were 350 players a day), would a sustainable solution like steadfast's shared hosting plans last me a while?
