Default any options for one time fees for hardware (drive) purchase vs. monthly?

Is there anything between dedicated and colo?

Specifically, if I want to go with a dedicated server with a number of 15k sas drives, and expect to have the server here for a long time, the fees for the drives become steep (while on the contrary, if someone gets the server for only a couple months, it's a good deal.) If I want a server that I plan to keep for 3 years though, that's $1080 per 73 GB 15k sas drive, drives that I just bought for my workstation here at $225 each (cheetah 15k.5 73 GB sas) Obviously having hardware SLA and replacements on site is worth some dollars, but that's steep if I want to keep the server for a long time. With just two 15k.5 drives, that's $1710 extra for the pair of hard drives. Another datacenter I have servers at has an option to buy hard drives with a one time fee that is basically 2.25x retail price to give them some profit to enable keeping spares on site, etc. Does steadfast have any similar option?

There are one-time fees available for all upgrades, and those one-time fees can be selected in the order form. If you have a lot of upgrades, just contact our support staff and we can likely work out some discounts for you.

Two years after the initial post, it appears things have changed a bit: sales told me today that one time fees are no longer available for 15k SAS drives nor for the raid card I was considering - those are now only available as monthly fees :(

I still like the option of the one-time fee for sata drives though which luckily is still on the table for the Velociraptors which seem quite nice too, even if I'm a bit less comfortable with them since they're new to me. I suppose the Velociraptors require less power too, so maybe that's the reason the SAS drives are only available monthly now.

I apologize, the answer you were given was incorrect, we can offer a one-time fee on everything, and the pricing for the one-time fees is specifically noted in our internal staff site, so I'm not sure why you were told that.
