Default Amperage calculation for dell 1750

How much power will a Dell 1750 dual 2.8 Ghz / 533 FSB with three 74 GB 15k SCSI drives draw? Will this fit under the colo special's included 1 amp average or will it require purchasing additional power for anything but a very basic server?

That system would likely use about 2.5A. If you're looking for power efficiency, I don't recommend Dell. Also, the newer dual core systems will get you more processing power AND lower power consumption.

    Thanks Karl.

What's the best deal for one 1u server on the standard network with 2.5 A of power then? (I don't have the budget for a new dual core yet )

I'd recommend you contact me by opening a sales ticket for specific requests such as that.
