    Default custom email filters?

We're interested in a Reseller plan, for a few small sites, all hobby/non-commercial, with low complexity & low server loads.

One of our main requirements is the ability to run a qmail-command compatible email filter, at the "global" level. I have read that H-sphere uses qmail as its MTA, hence our interest in H-Sphere and Steadfast.

Do you permit Reseller accounts to run such a filter? Is there control panel (or FTP) access to the raw .qmail files?

Note that the specific filter we'd like to run has a server load that is about an order of magnitude less than SpamAssassin. It's compiled (only external dependency is libc) and fully short-circuits.

Unfortunately this is not possible because the mail server is physically separated from the web servers and does not provide us with any way to allow direct access to .qmail files or user Maildir storage.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply!

How about procmail or equivalent MDA?

The filter we're interested in running has a procmail compatible version. I gather you allow running SpamAssassin on Reseller accounts, so I'm guessing you may be running it via procmail.

Unfortunately we do not use procmail. The spamassassin processing is done with qmail-queue integration and I'm not fully certain which patchset H-Sphere uses for their qmail builds. Either way, the system is physically separate from the web servers so users do not have login access to the machine to adjust configuration other than via webmail.
