just would like to say i have the trial server for few days and its excellent
35-40mbit average!
i think yee have the network side of things covered
just a few non network related questions i might ask once the trial is up:
*are other linux OS's available such as my favourite Suse 10.3?
*maybe a page on pooled.net describing all available upgrades, just a taught/suggestion, or maybe there is but i cant easily find it (beside the 1TB announcement)?
*maybe more info on regarding reboots, reinstalls and ip allocation
*i just spotted the 1gbit deal, but cant find more info on it
Thanks and hope im posting in the right thread
Yes, we can install basically any freely available OS you want, including Suse. The initial trial was just for CentOS 5 boxes since that is what we already had configured, etc.
The upgrade options are all listed on the bottom of the services page: http://pooled.net/servers/
Remote reboot ports are included, that is in the product description. I see reinstalls are not mentioned on the main pages, but those are $25 each. The IP pricing, etc. For IPs, on the services page it says, "All dedicated servers come standard with 1 usable IP, but up to 8 additional IPs can be requested at no additional charge by emailing us at ips@pooled.net. All IP allocations require proper ARIN justification." and then pricing for additional IPs is down with the pricing for upgrades, etc.
What additional info do you want about the 1 Gbit/sec deal? Everything you need should be here: http://pooled.net/network/index.php
1000 Mbit/sec Pooled Network Connection - An unmetered 1000 Mbit/sec port with 80 Mbit/sec of guaranteed bandwidth. You will always be able to push at least 80 Mbit/sec 24/7 with no packet loss and no slowdown. After the 80 Mbit/sec level, you will be able to use more bandwidth, but that bandwidth usage will be from the overall pool of bandwidth, provided to all customers. Normally, you will be able to use much more bandwidth than you are initially guaranteed, but this bandwidth usage may get some packet loss or see other slowdowns. These systems are capped to 100 Mbit/sec of incoming bandwidth by default to protect against DDoS attacks, but this cap can be lifted by contacting our support department.

Just wondering. Is pooled network available for colo customers? Maybe separate ethernet drop, or different gateway that can be used on the existing connection to the cabinet.
