    Default I'm New Here

Hey everyone. I thought I would say hello to everyone on these forums including the SF crew.

    A little about me:
    - My name is Rich, but I also go by Rick or "Hey, you"
    - I'm 19, going on 20 in October.
    - I'm a Private Pilot working on my Commercial License and hope to fly corporate or charter aircraft some day.
    - I've never taken a computer class besides those required in grade school to "teach you how to type" ever. Everything I know about computers, Linux, networking, etc. was entirely self-taught. And I still don't type correctly .
    - I work for several companies including some high-profile ones ranging in tasks from just server administration to complete network engineer.
    - I love to paintball (not speedball) and ski. I'm not at all into conventional sports like basketball, baseball, etc.
    - I'm a Linux enthusiast. I don't use Windows in the home or office at all anymore. Gentoo is my weapon of choice.

That about sums me up. I was referred here through one of the companies I work for. As of yet, I don't have servers here, but seeing to it that SF is closer to home than some of the other datacenters I have servers at, I might have to give them a try myself.

Hope to see you all around the forums.

I have a feeling we're all going to end up on an episode of Chris Hansen's To Catch A Stalker on Dateline NBC.

Hah. I haven't watched Dateline since the previous season of To Catch A Predator. Me and my roommate always crack up at these pervs. Never remember to watch it these days.

Well doc, maybe great minds just think alike.

    Word!

I needed a quality data center in north, central US and Steadfast came recommended by others so I joined up. Have 2 servers here now and it has been a pleasurable experience thus far.

Good to hear. This place is close enough for me to drive to which is a plus, although if Meigs field was still open I wouldn't question the ease of access to the datacenter being visisble from the tarmac. Would have made a worthwhile reason to fly up to Chicago.
