I'm disappointed by it overall. It is almost exactly the same thing as Thunderbird 1.5.x, except:
- New icon theme
- They changed the term "labels" to "tags"
- They renamed a few other things in the UI.
- They rearranged the UI a bit.
There's nothing really worthwhile in the upgrade that I've been able to find.
Still quite the memory hog.

I find TB 2 to work better than 1.5, as 2.x doesn't seem to lose the subscribed IMAP mailboxes, 1.5 did that sometimes and I had to download the entire shabang once more.
The tagging is indeed quite a "re-make" of labels, but it is more visible now and it is also easier to make new "tags", so that's a pro.
Thunderbird 2 also seem more stable than 1.5.
Lookswise I find it better (default looks).
