    Then again, do you really use a host that doesn't offer SSH-access?! (I think we both know the answer to that one! )

    @Karl:
    Well , I think that is quite a performance , not having to reinstall it for that much time.That could also be to you being a very tech-savvy user and knowing your way in windows xp (and it's security,or lack of,or misuse,call it what you want).You are actually the first person to hear that uses his WinXp like that , and I can say I'm impressed(congrats!). What works for you, IS the best for you!

    @Henrik:
    Yeah,I guess I'm lucky to use Steadfast. SSH and rsync make a good team .

    I have been using WinXP Pro for a long time. It works great for me. Like Karl, I have never ever gotten virus, spyware, or needed to re-install the OS for years. It always runs smooth. I also don't run any anti virus softwares any more, but firewall.
    Yep, I love Windows OS! will try Windows Vista soon coz it looks so beautiful and secure!

    I should settle in with Karl then, as I haven't had to re-install my windows xp laptops since they were bought. (Edit: "settle in" was an unfortunate selection of words )

    Aye! But something I wondered about - is rsync included in the shared plan?

    You guys must have cursed me. I've had FireFox and Skype crash at least twice today, and I've only been home for a few hours. :(

    Maybe it's time to make another ill-fated attempt to switch to *nix.

    Hmm, the higher the version of Skype the more prone it is to crash, it seems to me anyways. More bells n' whistles in version 3 over version 2, to mention something.

    But hey, you're good now?!
