VPS and CentOS 5

I am just getting setup with my VPS and chose to have CentOS 5 as my OS. I has been awhile since I did a CentOS 5 install from scratch but aren't PHP and MySQL installed by default or do I need to use yum to add the required packages.

These are not installed by default, but yum is available as an application you can include on your VPS. Once yum is installed, you can use yum to install whatever other packages you need. If you select a control panel, these things will be automatically added to your OS for you.
