Default Troubles with email sent from php.

    Hello,

Would there be any reason that emails would not be sent from a php script that was working at 7am today (Eastern), could this be due to the scheduled maintenance today?.

The php script still appears to have sent the email, but It is never received.

I am sending the email from my server on I believe web5, to an email account hosted at steadfast, as well as to a hotmail address, neither get through.

I've checked my spam filter, and nothing appears in there.

    Thanks,

    Jeb

All emails have now been received, just appears to be slow for some reason, there was about a 2 hour delay.

Our mail filtering system for outgoing mail was slowed down by volume yesterday. We upgraded the server to improve performance so those slowdowns should not happen anymore.

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure its happening again today, right now I haven't received an email I was expected about 30 minutes ago.

    Jeb

Update: Received the email just as I posted this.

I am having this same problem today (and have had it in the recent past). Is there a known explanation?

I would assume its just the nature of shared hosting

The outbound mail is throttled to some degree to give us time to catch abuses without causing massive blacklisting problems etc. When there are no problems, mail is not delayed. We caught a large outbound batch of mail that shouldn't have gone out and it's being cleaned up. Mail can generally be expected to catch up within a few hours after this is done.

Is there still a problem? I got a few that took 8 - 12 hours, plus they still don't seem to be coming right through.

Is there an ETA of when all should be back to normal? I'm going to set it to failover to the backup host and was wondering when it should be safe to switch back.
