    Default CentOS5 PHP 5.2?

This isn't supported yet and I also I didn't see this in the plus repo. Should this be supported soon? Not a big deal just wondering if anyone had some insight.

I don't expect that PHP 5.2 will appear in CentOS 5's main repository ever because RedHat will hold back the package to the current version and backport fixes for eternity. The centosplus repository for CentOS 5 seems like a good place to put it, but I've not heard anything about PHP 5.2 showing up there. The 5.x packages in CentOS 4 were useful since PHP 4.3.9 was starting to grow old, so it's probably not being seen as that important.
