    Default issues with gameservers?

Hi there, I was told by my provider who has space in your dc that there is an issue with gameserver traffic at the moment (servers seem to stop working at random times for 10-15 seconds or so then the game continues right where it left off as if packets for some reason were not being passed for that time.)

I needed to get more information on this problem. IE if you are aware of it, and trying to fix the problem, not aware of it etc. That sort of thing. Info from my provider really was just that, no eta on a fix or workaround.

    Thanks
    fred

Could you post up a traceroute to that particular gameserver?

My personal opinion (and not as someone associated with Steadfast) is that if you are using one of our recommended GameServers Providers, you should receive support from them. If they fail you, they should be removed from our list of recommendations.

Mind posting up when you started having problems? It may be related to the recent DDoS deployment we had at Steadfast.

Most likely not related to the DDoS deployment. Since you are indirectly a Steadfast Customer, I'm not sure how much more I can be of help nor do I wish to overstep my job description and make claims Steadfast can not honor.

The most I can do at this point is bring this to the attention of a network engineer. Unfortunately, I can't be certain to whether they will do something or refer you to your Game Server Provider.

If you feel you are unhappy with what your current provider is offering, I invite you to check out our list of Game Server Providers that have equipment with us at Steadfast.

Perhaps you will find one that is more desirable and more suitable to your needs.

I haven't had any issues with the network at Steadfast, and I've got about 30-40 game servers running. I have, however, seen an instance where if multiple gamers are coming from the same IP address their pings become unstable at random times (although tracing this is quite difficult).

Did you try to do an error search on your side, Fred? (aka disabling firewalls etc)
