    Default Joomla setup on steadfast?

    Hello,
I was wanting to install Joomla on the shared server that I have here with Steadfast, and was wondering if the Steadfast servers were compatible with Joomla...

...and if so, is there anything special that I would need to do to configure the server for Joomla?

    Thank you for your assistance,

    Davide

You can use your Steadfast control panel to install Joomla.

I've tried setting up Joomla on the shared server manually and everything was perfect.
According to the my experience, shared plans are completely ready for Joomla without any extra configuration.

    P.S.
You can check Joomla installation guide on joomla.org, it's very detailed and should be helpful.

You can certainly setup joomla on our shared hosting servers. You should also make sure to declare your mysql server (mysql.steadfast.net or mysql2.steadfast.net) in the configuration. Typically, this is set to the value of 'localhost', as many webhosts operate mysql on the same server as their webserver. However, we operate separate mysql servers, so you'll need to declare that differently.

I have one more quick question. I am now beginning the installation of Joomla, and was wondering if I can unzip the joomal package file directly on steadfast webserver into my root directory, rather than unzipping the file locally and FTP'ing the files (risking losing data in the process).

Thank you in advance for any help in this regard,

    -Davide
