WordPress 2.7 Will Not Install

Hi,

I have shared hosting with steadfast.net and I uploaded wordpress to my host and went to install it and made sure my database name, user name and password were correct but every time I run the install it states that there was an error relating to establishing a database connection.

My site is ilovescrapbooking.org

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you make make sure to define a MySQL server? MySQL server should not be localhost, it should be either mysql.steadfast.net or mysql2.steadfast.net depending on when you signed up or if you switched MySQL servers.

Did that work for you? You contacted us too, but I don't remember getting a reply either way.

Josh makes a good point; mysql2 is the default for all new users. If you've been with us for a long time, it's worth remembering that your new accounts will (thankfully!) go to mysql2.
