    Default Cisco ASA 5505 reconfiguration

    Ok,
I think this will work but wanted to ask if there is a short-coming I may be missing.

I want to change the ip scheme my firewall sits on.
Say it is currently on 192.168.0.x but I want to make it 192.168.1.x
I foresee this being as straight-forward as:
    1) backing up the config (to our tftp server)
    2) Find and replacing all 192.168.0. with 192.168.1. in the startup-config and the running-config in a text editor
    3) Restore the altered configuration

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Sure...

Without knowing much more about your setup that'll work fine. There's no problem using any IPs you like within 192.168.0.0/16, or 10.0.0.0/8.

I don't see any reason that won't work provided you have everything else properly configured before and after the ASA..
