Exclamation SMTP is sending out localhost instead of FQDN in exchange.

    Hi Sir,

I am getting outbound mail blocked and end up on blacklists. A helo check returns this message.

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. <mail.domain.com #5.5.0 smtp;550-Your HELO name for IP address xx.xx.xx.xx was>

CBL further informs me that my mail server is sending from "localhost" instaed of FQDN for my mail server..
    How do I fix this?
This is an Exchange 2003 SP2

    Thanks,
    Nelson
Kindly appreciate for your good advice urgently.

    Nelson,

I'm not completely certain here, but since Windows does not support the direct concept of a "hostname" I believe there is a configuration option in which you must specify the hostname for the SMTP instance (whatever it's called in Exchange, as I'm not familiar). When you replace it, be sure your FQDN is something that resolves to the same IP as you are sending mail from, or some servers may still refuse your messages.
