I was informed by Steadfast tech support that Autoresponders (via H-Sphere email configuration) had been disabled due to a security issue. I'm just trying to set an Out Of Office reply for an employee that's off for a week. Can't do it through the mail client because the system is not at my location. Does anybody have a suggestion for an alternative workaround? This is not an uncommon requirement for us.

Thanks,

David

Can't do it through the mail client because the system is not at my location. What do you mean by not at your location? I think if you leave the email client on and set to download automatically every 10 mins or whatever you should be able to do an auto response or some kind of filter to send an email reply back on incoming emails.

What do you mean by not at your location?

By "not at my location", I mean that that the computer in not physically located at our headquarters. So I can't get to it in order to configure the mail client, and the employee is already gone. Most of my employees are geographically distributed and use laptops. If traveling with the laptop, it is usually powered off while en route, and it is frequently off while not in use at the destination. So using the mail client for Out of Office notifications would provide sporadic responses. That may be what we have to do if I can't find another solution.

Thanks for your response.

Hello,

I have a client who needs to set up an auto-responder for his email address while he is out of the country and without a computer for two weeks.

I can't believe there is no way to do this with Steadfast...? I must be missing something. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.
