Hi,

I am looking at Steadfast's dedicated servers and have been quite impressed by the offerings. I am just wondering if those servers can handle web-hosting and video streaming at the same time, allowing the usage of its UDP port and having the RTSP protocol. It might be better to have two server..or one managed host for the web front-end, and one dedicated server for the streaming. What would this arrangement be like?

How many people are you streaming to?

Is it just a forwarder?

We are told to expect at least 10,000 users daily; video specs are expected to be from 2min to 4min, at 350 KB/S, and there may be about 100 hours of videos. Users will also be able to upload videos.

A dedicated server solution is what we're looking for; just wondering if we can uitilise the UDP ports for streaming and RTSP. We are looking at hosting the video on the server, and perhaps another server/managed host for the web frontend.

Steadfast does not block any ports to dedicated servers by default. You are allowed to install firewall software if you prefer, but it is not something that is automatically done for you.

The network does not have any firewall enabled that should prevent your server from getting the traffic intended for it.
