I'm trying to host a domain on a different IP than my primary and am not sure if I'm doing it right. First, I added the IPs to my server. They show up under "IP Addresses" with a Subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. But my primary has a mask of 255.255.255.192. Is that right? Anyway, I can ping those IPs and they respond.

Then, I changed the IP of my domain to one of the new IPs. This looks right in Plesk. It says the "Domain has physical hosting on" that new IP.

So now, when I type in that IP in my browser, show I see that domain? It's giving me the Plesk Server Default page. Is this the right behavior? When I do a "Site Preview" in Plesk, I see the right content.

I haven't transferred the actual domain name to Steadfast yet so I'm just test with the IP.

thanks.

Is the IP marked as a shared or exclusive IP address? I'm not 100% sure it matters in Plesk, as exclusive IPs can be shared amongst domains on an individual account.

The best way to preview the site in Plesk is through the site preview feature inside of Plesk.

It is marked as an exclusive.

The site preview in Plesk works for that domain. But I just wanted to make sure the IP works, too. If that domain is hosting on some IP exclusively, when I type in that IP in my browser, I should see the site right? I'm probably missing something here..heh.

If you go to the IP management page in the server section, then click on the count of the number of domains on that IP, you will be taken to a page which allows you to tick which domain you would like to have as the default for the IP. When that is done, that domain will show up when you access the IP address directly.
