I can start/stop, do all sorts of horrible things to my box (ugh that didn't come out right), but I need to do these 2 simple yet far above my fat head things:
1. I need to create FTP user account in a restricted directory. I use DirectAdmin and for some reason it will not create an account. I have reason to believe that it is in a directory that has ".com" and I think it doesn't like the "." in it. Sooo, I need to create it in ssh. Well I have no idea.
I looked in passwd thinking that if I could create an ssh account for that needed dir it would be all I need, but I do not see password field, just the name, permission, and directory.
Anyone have a clue as to how to go about this? I would still need ssh for same dir which brings me to question #2:
2. I am running these Counter Strike Source servers. I need a usable script to be able to execute start.sh and stop.sh. I am a n00b when it comes to this. I can execute them via ssh, but I need to make it so others can do this without ssh access. I fear them doing something they shouldn't be.
Bottom line is that I have no gaming control panel, I am in a clan that doesn't support much. I am not willing to move to Windows to get tcadmin because I am on a strict budget and I would also need more ram to accomplish that in itself anyways. Besides I like being able to have control over my kernel frequencies.
Anyone with some pointers would be greatly appreciated. :help:
