I always thought these things were auto-healing hot-swappable, or is that something that isn't the case with the RAID setup that the VPS servers are using?

I've never personally done any sort of RAID, nor have I spent any real time looking at VPS2, so I am somewhat interested.

The problem is that the drive array on this server has 8 drives but the server doesn't have as many hot swap bays. The affected drive is one of the drives in a standard bay so the server must be turned off to replace it.

This occurred when we upgraded the disk configuration when redeploying this server previously, as originally it contained only 6 disks.
