Networks Defined

The differences between our Standard and Performance networks

At Steadfast Networks, we realize that there are many different uses and requirements for bandwidth. Because of this, we have configured two network packages to best serve these varying needs. Both of our networks are fully redundant, multi-homed, DDoS protected, and backed by our 100% uptime SLA. If you would like to further evaluate the routing difference feel free to use our looking glass. All new dedicated and colocation customers can move seemlessly between the two networks with little to no downtime and no IP changes.

Performance Network

Our performance network was set up with the sole goal of achieving high performance, by offering low latency, low packet loss, and low jitter. The connectivity for this network is provided by all of our carriers, Level(3), Savvis, AT&T, MCI, XO, TeliaSonera, nLayer, and is supplemented by local peering. At the core of the performance network is the InterNAP Flow Control Platform (FCP) which proactively searches among all of our bandwidth carriers for the best possible route and navigates around any congestion or outages that may occur. The providers we utilize, along with the InterNAP FCP, allow us to offer a network, with few equals, perfect for supporting critical applications and web sites or for highly demanding services such as VoIP, IPTV, and online gaming.

All of our shared hosting, reseller, and VPS accounts use this network. Dedicated servers on the performance network using 1200GB of bandwidth start at $109.95 a month and colocation is available in increments as low as 256 kbit/sec for as little as $80 a month.

Standard Network

Our standard network was set up with the goal of providing the best network possible for an extremely affordable price. After months of working with providers on pricing, etc. we were able to put together a stable network at the price point we wanted without needing to sacrifice network performance. Utilizing bandwidth from Savvis, XO, TeliaSonera, nLayer, and local peering, the standard network is useful for most standard applications, including download servers, streaming media, and general use web servers. As we still utilize high level providers for the standard network, it is perfect for the cost conscious webmaster who still wants above average speed and reliability. The standard network is still a high end network but simply does not provide the extreme network performance of our performance network.

On the standard network, we require a minimum commitment level of 10 Mbit/sec for colocated system. 2000GB dedicated servers are available on the standard network starting at $109.95 a month and colocation is available for as little as $199 a month, with bandwidth selling for as little as $10 per Mbit/sec.
